What’s Up Missoula: Concerts, Expos & Family Fun
From classical to country concerts and summer camp sign-ups to First Friday, there’s something for everyone.
It’s the first Friday in April, and with it comes the monthly First Friday Art Walk downtown. The Missoula Art Museum will host a painting exhibition, “Light and Shadow”, by featured artist Sheila Miles. Catch the First Friday reception tonight between 5 and 8 PM. Miles will offer an artist discussion at the museum on Saturday at 11 AM.
Summer is right around the corner and as the school year winds down, you may be wondering what to do with the kids while you’re at work. Mismo Gymnastics hosts their annual Kid’s Camp Expo from 4 – 7 PM Friday. Over 20 vendors, ranging from Missoula Parks and Rec to Tastebuds Kitchen and the Suzuki Music Institute will be present and offering incentives to get your kids signed up for a wide variety of summer camps. While you browse the summer camp options; you’re kids can play in the gymnasium with coach supervision.
Little Red Truck’s Vintage & Handmade Market will host their annual event at the Missoula County Fairgrounds Friday evening from 5 -10 PM and Saturday from 10 AM – 4 PM. Admission is 5 dollars and attendees can visit over 100 vendors: farm fresh, shabby, industrial and more!
There’s no shortage of concerts either as many of the local haunts will have live music on hand Friday and Saturday. Sunday night, April 9th, offers a variety of options for listeners of varying taste. The String Orchestra of the Rockies open University of Montana’s Composers Showcase at the Music Recital Hall on campus. The performance begins at 7:30 PM.
Across campus at the Dennison Theatre, you can catch country artist Collin Raye with special guest Thom Bresh at 7 PM.
