What’s Up Missoula: Weekend Update

March is gone and April is here. As 2017 flies by, we’ll continue to keep you up to date on the best weekend events in and around Missoula.

New movies in theaters include the long-delayed remake, “Ghost in the Shell”, and family-friendly “Boss Baby” featuring Alec Baldwin as the titular toddler, but if you’re looking to catch a flick this Friday night we recommend you take advantage of a special screening of “The Big Lebowski”. The Wilma Theater is hosting a free screening of the Coen Brothers’ cult classic at 8 PM. Doors open at 7 and you can take advantage of The Wilma’s full bar service. We recommend pairing the film with a White Russian.

The live music scene is active as always with options to suit all tastes. Full Grown Band plays the Union Club Bar and Grill Friday at 9:30 PM. If you’re looking for bluegrass, head across Higgins to the Top Hat to catch a show by The Last Revel, Crow & The Canyon also at 9:30 Friday.

Saturday night brings more concerts including Imagine Nation Brewing Company’s Saturday Night Live Music Series features Travis Yost at 6 PM. Meanwhile, Basses Covered will be performing at Ten Spoon Vineyard Winery. If you’re looking to hit the dance floor, don’t mis Shodown at the Sunrise Saloon, they’re slated to start playing at 9:30 PM.

Other community events include the Missoula Home & Garden Show, Saturday and Sunday at the Adams Center on campus. Off the Rack Variety Show: Four Decades in the 406 will be put on at MCT Saturday night and Bare Bait Dance Presents Surge on campus at 8PM Friday and Saturday night.
